The Laboratory Animal and Comparative Medicine Division creates specific pathogen free agricultural laboratory animals and genetic modified model animal new resources based on classic genetics, systemic biological purification, modern molecular biological and genetic modification technology, including chicken, ducks, mink, ferret, canine, swine, sheep and cattle that are conformed to livestock diseases and zoonoses preventive and control researches. The aim of the division is to study basic biological and immunogenetic of laboratory animals, to build microbiological, parasite, pathogenic, genetics, feed nutriment, environment, and quality test technique, as well as resources storage technique, to develop animal experimental techniques and equipment, establish resource and share platform for the bred animals.
