Our research focus on pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and control technology of bacterial infectious diseases mainly caused by Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium paratuberculosis, Salmonella, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Haemophilus parasuis etc. We also intensively investigate drug resistance of animal origin bacteria, including resistance epidemiology, mechanism of multidrug resistance of Grampositive & Gram- negative bacteria.

  Siguo Liu, Ph.D., Professor

Professional major:

The research of Professor Liu is mainly about Bovine Tubculosis in China. The group he leads has been working in pathogenesis of Mycobacterium bovis, the epidemiology of Bovine Tubculosis, the immune response, vaccine and the antibiotic resistance of bacteria in animals.  Because of the absence of the fast diagnosis method to Bovine Tubculosis, he has developed an iELISA and PCR kit for fast diagnosis of Bovine Tubculosis. Currently, the researches focus on the vaccine and medicine against bacterial infection, the corresponding diagnosis methods, the molecular regulation of bacterial proteins as well as the interaction of  the bacteria and host.
