Our studies relate to the pathogen basic research, epidemiological studies and the prevention and control of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), Marek’s disease virus (MDV), avian leukosis virus (ALV), reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV) and other poultry immunosuppressive diseases. We established reverse genetics systems for IBDV, MDV and ALV and has made significant contributions to the exploration of the pathogenic mechanisms of IBDV genetic variation and the ALVs-induced tumors. We has successfully developed the inactivated vaccine (Gx strain) and attenuated live vaccine (Gt strain) against IBDV, the recombinant subunit vaccine against REV and a serial of diagnostic reagents for detection of poultry immunosuppressive diseases.

The IBD inactivated vaccine (Gx strain) and live vaccine (Gt strain) are widely used in China currently.
